Scandinavian Apple Breakfast Cake

Combine:
4 C. peeled, cored and finely chopped cooking apples
1 C. sugar
1 C. chopped walnuts
2/3 C. butter
Stir in:
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
Add:
2 C. flour
2 t. cinnamon
¼ t. cardamom
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
¾ t. allspice
1/8 t. salt
Spread into a greased 9 x 12 pan or 10-inch fluted tube pan.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes for flat pan or 50 minutes for tube pan.
Sprinkle with:
sifted powdered sugar and chopped walnuts.
