Mary Griffith’s Orange Bow Knots

Combine & proof:
1 T. yeast
¼ C. warm water
1 t. sugar
Combine:
1 C. scalded milk
1/3 C. sugar
1 t. salt
2 beaten eggs
2 T. grated orange peel
¼ C. orange juice
5 C. flour
Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
Knead 10 minutes.
Cover and let rise 2 hours.
Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.
Divide into 2 balls and roll out. Cut in 12 pie shaped pieces, roll from wide to narrow end. Let rise.
Bake 400 degrees 8 to 12 minutes.
Glaze:
Grated orange rind
Juice from one orange
Melted butter
Powdered sugar
