Suzanne Mosman’s Layered Salad

Layer:
1 large head lettuce, chopped
1.2 C. celery, chopped
½ c. green pepper, chopped
¼ C. red onion, chopped
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen peas
1 can water chestnuts, sliced
1 ½ C. sharp, cheddar cheese, grated
12 oz. thick bacon, fried & crumbled
Mix together and spread over the top:
1 ½ C. mayonnaise
2 T. sugar
